Usually if someone tries to post before the flood counter runs out, user / visitor will get this
dialog saying they need to wait. Wouldn't it be nicer to check the permissions if the user has crossed the edit time limit yadia yada and if they can edit the message then show the above message in the image in addition to "You can edit your last post". This could stop double or triple posting in a better way, merging the posts will make users ignore the "Double Post Merged" message and they will do the same in future.
