[XTR] AI Assistant

[XTR] AI Assistant [Paid] 1.0.19

No permission to buy ($45.00)
@Osman ,
Impressive tool. I haven't purchased it quite yet. But, I am inclined to.

Not sure if this suggestion has been made yet or if it is even popular.....I run a private site. As a thread starter, a user may not want the contents of the thread to be submitted to a third-party (public) LLMs and therefore, no summaries to be generated, no bot support for the thread, etc. Can the thread starter turn it off per thread?

Also, what protections of the tool are in place (or planned) to mitigate sharing PII (such as emails, birthdates, private conversations, etc.) with third party LLMs? Does the user have granular control over what is being shared with the service providers? Can users opt-in/out from having all of their data used? Does the admin have that control?

Is there (or can there be) an automated way to update the privacy policy page to link visitors/members to each provider/model privacy policy? This could help with shouldering liability.
Along those same lines of thought....Is there an overall visitor/member help page opt-in to notify members that AI tools are in use.....and force acceptance like the privacy policy?

Thanks!!

Hello @chris26237,

Thank you for your interest in our add-on. Your questions are very pertinent, especially for private communities, and we take these privacy concerns seriously. Here is a breakdown of our current features and upcoming plans:
  1. Per-Thread AI Control: Our tool already supports this functionality. A thread starter (or authorized moderators) can disable AI bot activity for a specific thread either during creation or later via the "Thread Tools" menu. When disabled, no content from that thread is processed by the AI, and bot interactions (summaries, replies, etc.) are restricted.
  2. PII (Personally Identifiable Information) Protection: In the current version, data is transmitted directly to the LLM providers. However, we are actively planning a "Data Masking" feature for an upcoming update. This will automatically redact sensitive information such as email addresses, phone numbers, and specific dates before they are sent to third-party LLMs.
  3. User Control and Opt-out: Administrators have granular control over which forum nodes have AI features enabled. Additionally, we are looking into implementing a global user preference that allows members to opt-out of having their content processed by AI tools across the entire board.
  4. Privacy Policy & Acceptance: While we don't currently have an automated link generator for privacy policies, we recommend updating your forum’s standard Privacy Policy and Terms of Service to include AI usage.
