A little unfair to compare this with the previous version as this is practically a new add-on, literally throwning everything out and starting with a clean slate. ;) There's definite feature gaps with what was in v1.0 but they're closing fast.

True, but considering you guys are making LN upgradeable to XIBlog at some point...it might be worth it to use LNBlog until XIBlog is all good and then just upgrade :)

It may be beta, but its still one of the most stable pieces of software I've seen. And he's been fixing bugs faster than I would think is imaginable. I'll be deploying B1 on a live site soon enough.

What features do you need? What would you like to see? What is it missing? Onimua, and anyone else for that matter, can't effectively build a better program without feedback. I have yet to see "bromancing" going on, but XI Blog v1.1 is far better than it was in v1.0, and is only going to get better.

If I understood the posts earlier, its not possible to delete blogs without going into the database. That's pretty much a showstopper for us as none of our mods have db access.

If I'm mistaken then that'd be great :-)

This is being added in one of the next beta's, it was just left out for testing sake.

It might seem like theres a lot added currently, but almost every new feature is a large feature that requires a lot of additional testing. The plan is to add in features throughout beta and sequential releases, so as to not overload Onimua with bugs.

If you feel something is missing, make a suggestion. If people don't make suggestions we have no clue as to what needs to be added, and the blog will never work for you.

Also will be added within betas, so you won't be SOL for long.

It's not, yet. I have it, and I have to say... it is exceptional and what I would expect from all the talk over the last year about it. Saying that... there is no way you could install this version onto a live site, because there are permissions and functions that don't work.

Is it worth it overall? From playing around with the first beta... Yes. I will obviously wait until this product develops into a usable one for a live environment, though it is impressive still.
 
Yeah this blog solution seems to be considerably better (what I have seen from demos) than the Better Blogs system. While some people may need some of the features it (Better Blogs) has I will for sure be buying this one. Wish I would have held out and not bought Better Blogs now.

Theres an extensive list planned, and a lot of changes to make this a better platform as it matures.

A lot of the issues that have come up are due to there being so many large features at one time, and its hard to troubleshoot them all with only ~3 people. That said, there haven't been any major issues that I have seen (I think I caught the majority in the pre-beta testing).

What i know is, that Forsaken, Onimua and KK are great Coders and the work they had done till today is on the top level of all Xenforo Coders. So I can wait a litte more to get a well coded Blog.

Yep I wasn't trying to be negative or impatient. It looks like an absolutely amazing addon and one that'll form a key part of our site, it's just a shame it can't be used yet.
