xf_search_index - way, way too large

For a search that doesn't work very good , mine is 318MB which is a total waste of space, is there a way to better manage this resource?

i know i can pay more money for a better search , its not that big of deal I'm ok with one that don't work that well as long as it don't hog my resources

how can i address this can i make the search cache less or something?

You may be able to reduce the size by reducing the word lengths and then rebuilding the index:

But honestly 300MB isn't horrible and disk space is usually cheap.

If you were to use the Enhanced Search addon then you could truncate that table, but of course then you would have space being used by Elasticsearch
