XF cloud to self-hosted - weird email situation

Hi all,

We migrated from XenForo Cloud to self-hosted on a Namecheap server yesterday. Since the migration, user mention and message emails aren't delivering. But the OTP and account verification ones are.

Admin.php test emails work, and the email log shows everything how it should when they're sent.

No luck with SMTP or 3rd party email provider. For testing purposes we set up a sub-forum on the same server and emails send perfectly on that forum.

I'm kind of at a loss, has anyone ever seen this or have anything we can try?

Have you checked the obvious: config settings in the ACP and / or user preferences? Assuming they're correct and you don't get the answer here, I suggest logging a ticket for this.

Also, are you running the latest 2.3.6 and recent versions of the database and PHP?

In XF admin it was the “job run trigger” setting was set to server based instead of activity based.

Have you checked your domain with something like MX Toolbox and made sure you have no DKIM issues or something else that can cause a problem?

Thanks for that tool. I actually did have some issues with those settings too but was able to clean them up in cPanel.

I had an issue where everything was correct except I had an IP address typo in the spf records. yahoo.es was rejecting them but yahoo.com was accepting. Gmail seemed to do it different every time.

EDIT: Also if you had a DKIM issue in your DNS records it might take a while to propagate out.
