If you're starting with version 1.0.0 Alpha what's stopping you from using the standard upgrade step procedure? There is a limiting factor I suppose in that a version ID suffix from 10 to 29 are the only valid "Alpha" versions so I suppose if you're planning to have more upgrade versions than that then I see your point.Yeah I think we're ok. I hadn't actually tested it yet but it seemed to me like it might be possible that it was generating and saving a version ID of 0000118 which would be invalid.So for now we'll just close this as "as designed".
