I generally stay away from threads like this mainly because of the "me me me" postings. I've not read the whole thread and I don't intend on doing so but a lot of the suggestions I've seen are for features that will benefit only a small number of sites and aren't really features that should be considered core features - if you need features like that then pay a developer to create them or buy an existing addon (if it doesn't exist it then probably isn't a much sought after feature in the first place) - core features should be beneficial to the majority, IMO.
I'm not sure what I expect from 2.3, or if I'll even upgrade. If there is anything that requires major reworking of my site or breaks existing addons then I'll need to seriously weigh up the pros & cons - most of what I personally need I've already purchased.
One thing this thread does suggest is that XF needs a much better and expanded ignore function so hopefully something will be implemented (although there are a few addons available that aren't expensive). I'd even donate the money to XF to buy one of them and have it functioning right now tbh.
Not even sure why everyone is moaning about the time between releases, 2.2 works very well. Yes, new features are always welcome but if you've been hanging around waiting for new features in the hope that it will magically make your site all singing and all dancing then you are probably going to be disappointed...in fact, there will probably be some epic meltdowns once 2.3 is released going by some posts I've read here...
