Download XenForo 2.1.0 and official add-ons

Note that add-ons and custom styles may be broken after upgrading to 2.1. You must test your add-ons thoroughly or look for updates. Be especially careful with add-ons that cover similar features to ones that are added to 2.1; these may conflict with the core XenForo data. If data conflicts are found, they will need to be resolved in a new add-on release or by removing the add-on before upgrading to 2.1.

Official add-on updates

We have also released updates to all of our official add-ons that are compatible with XenForo 2.1:
  • XenForo Media Gallery 2.1.0
  • XenForo Resource Manager 2.1.0
  • XenForo Enhanced Search 2.1.0
  • XenForo Importers 1.1.0
When upgrading to XenForo 2.1, we strongly recommend upgrading the official add-ons as well. Otherwise, you may run into incompatibilities.

Aside from a number of bug fixes, these add-on releases also have several new features and improvements:
  • The Media Gallery and Resource Manager support the REST API, push notifications, reactions, content bookmarking, and auto-read marking of alerts where relevant.
  • The Resource Manager now allow moderators to provide public reasons when deleting a resource; the "support URL" field can now be toggled per category; the resource discussion can now be manually changed or removed per resource; page criteria has been added to target individual resource categories; and resource views are now tracked.
  • The Media Gallery has re-introduced a configurable limit for the max length of media/album titles and descriptions and an option to control the default privacy setting of albums (defaulting to public).
  • The Importers now include support for importing from XenForo 2.1, including importing bookmarks and reactions.
Current requirements

The following are minimum requirements:
  • PHP 5.6 or newer (PHP 7.2 recommended)
  • MySQL 5.5 and newer (MySQL 5.7/8.0 or equivalent recommended)
  • All of the official add-ons require XenForo 2.1.
  • Enhanced Search requires at least Elasticsearch 2.0.
Installation and upgrade instructions

If you are already running a pre-release version of XenForo 2.1, you will be pleased to know that you can easily upgrade to this version using the new One-click upgrades system (assuming your server configuration allows it).

Otherwise, full details for how to install and upgrade XenForo can be found in the XenForo manual.

Note that the official add-ons must be upgraded after upgrading to XenForo 2.1.
