[XenCrazy] XFRM Download Button Styler - Style your XenForo Resource Manager download, external download, and purchase buttons from the ACP

[XenCrazy] XFRM Download Button Styler is a free XenForo Resource Manager add-on that lets you style the main Resource Manager action buttons from the Admin CP.

It is designed for forum owners who want download, external download, and external purchase buttons to stand out a little more without editing templates or writing custom extra.less code.

This add-on only changes the visual styling of supported active Resource Manager buttons. It does not change permissions, download behavior...

Thanks for checking out [XenCrazy] XFRM Download Button Styler.

This is the first stable release, so if you run into any problems, odd styling behavior, template conflicts, install issues, or anything that does not look right with uploaded file downloads, external download URLs, or external purchase buttons, please post the details here.

When reporting an issue, it helps to include your XenForo version, XenForo Resource Manager version, the type of resource button involved, and a screenshot if the issue is visual.

I’ll keep an eye on this thread and use feedback here to help improve future updates.

CrazyChef updated [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler with a new update entry:

Renamed to [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler

This resource has been renamed from [XenCrazy] XFRM Download Button Styler to [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler.

This is a branding/add-on identity change. If you installed the earlier XenCrazy version, uninstall that version first, then install the new XenChef version fresh.

The add-on itself still does the same job: styling XenForo Resource Manager uploaded file download buttons, external download URL buttons, and external purchase buttons from the Admin CP.

No visible frontend...

CrazyChef updated [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler with a new update entry:

Version 1.0.1 - Advanced sizing clarification

Version 1.0.1 is a small wording and documentation update.

This update clarifies how the basic Button size setting works when advanced styling controls are enabled. In basic mode, the Button size dropdown controls the preset button size. When advanced styling controls are enabled, the custom font size and custom padding fields override the basic Button size setting.

The documentation now also notes that advanced font size and padding fields accept normal CSS values, including clamp()...

Show us your buttons

Now that a few people have downloaded [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler, I’d love to see how people are actually using it.

If you’ve styled your Resource Manager buttons with the add-on, feel free to post a screenshot here. Default colors, gradients, subtle changes, wild experiments, whatever you came up with.

It would be helpful to see how the button looks across different XenForo styles, especially darker themes, lighter themes, custom styles, and Resource Manager layouts. It might also give other admins a few ideas for their own sites.

No pressure, of course. But if you’ve got a button style you like, show it off.

CrazyChef updated [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler with a new update entry:

Version 1.0.2 - Package cleanup after security review

Version 1.0.2 is a small maintenance release for [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler.

After doing a focused security review of the 1.0.1 package, I did not find any obvious exploitable security issue. The add-on does not handle payments, authentication, uploads, custom database tables, public controllers, or permission changes.

During that review, I found a stale package hash issue and an old internal beta build marker that should not have remained in the stable package. This update...

I just posted version 1.0.2 of [XenChef] XFRM Download Button Styler.

This is a small maintenance update after doing a focused security/package review of the 1.0.1 ZIP. I did not find any obvious exploitable security issue, but I did find a stale package hash issue and an old internal beta build marker that should not have remained in the stable package.

Version 1.0.2 rebuilds the package cleanly with fresh hashes and updates the internal build marker.

There are no behavior changes in this release. Resource Manager permissions, download behavior, purchase behavior, button targeting, and front-end styling behavior are unchanged.

Am I missing something? This does nothing to my downloads button. Are there any know conflicts with other addons?

Have you set the permissions to allow using it?
Also, I don't have a record of a purchase from you. Are you sure this reply is for the XFRM Download Button Styler add-on?

Whoops, sorry about that. I was supposed to post in a forum discussion about moving the button to the left. What you learn about having to many tabs open.

Edit: It's the post where you mention your add-on, so I'm just gonna leave it here. Guess the questions stands. Before I potentially buy it. Any known issues with other button add-on's or template edits?

None that I'm aware of, and nobody who's using it has reported any issues. It really doesn't interact with other add-ons though - it's specific to the XFRM add-on only
