Today, we are delighted to announce that the Xen Media Gallery add-on by @Chris D is joining the official XenForo product line. The newly-named XenForo Media Gallery will sit alongside the XenForo Resource Manager and XenForo Enhanced Search add-ons and will be maintained, updated and supported by the XenForo team. Furthermore, the developer of XMG, @Chris D will be joining the XenForo development team to help us develop XenForo and our official add-ons. Please join us in welcoming Chris!

XenForo Media Gallery licenses will be managed in the same way as XenForo Resource Manager and XenForo Enhanced Search licenses. They will be attached to a specific XenForo license and support/update extensions will be tied into that license.

Existing Xen Media Gallery licenses will be converted to XenForo Media Gallery licenses automatically. In most cases, we have identified the associated XenForo license and attached the necessary XenForo Media Gallery add-on. However, in some cases, we were unable to do this and some manual action may be required. All Xen Media Gallery customers will be receiving an email shortly with specific information and instructions [edit: all XMG customer emails have been sent].

XenForo Media Gallery is now available for purchase and download for $60. Extensions will cost $15 for an additional year of support and updates; the extension cost will be included automatically within your XenForo license extension cost.

XenForo Media Gallery 1.0.0 requires XenForo 1.3.0 or higher.

    Upgrading from Xen Media Gallery

Existing Xen Media Gallery customers can upgrade to XenForo Media Gallery following the usual add-on upgrade procedures. Download the latest version of XFMG from the your customer area and upload the new files over top of the old ones. Then, from your XenForo control panel, choose to update Xen Media Gallery and enter library/XenGallery/addon-XenGallery.xml as the local file. Once you submit the form, the upgrade process will begin. Once the rebuilds have completed, your upgrade to XenForo Media Gallery will be finished.

For more information, please see our XenForo Media Gallery manual page.
