Wordpress Gallery, how to link to the thumbnails, dont want all thumbnails in post.

Question for the WP gurus...

I just discovered WP has a wicked gallery built in, problem is, I upload 200 pics and it stretches my post on the main page all the way down the page. I want to place 1 pic on the main post, and link it to the next page with all the pics thumbnails.

Is this possible?

If you need enhanced gallery functionality, I would suggest NextGen Gallery for WordPress. It is easily the best free gallery add-on with lots of possibilities. The built-in gallery features aren't that great.

As for your problem - you may simply edit the post and insert a single picture + a <!--more--> tag in front of your [gallery] shortcode.

Not sure what your getting at exactly here? But there is a setting called "Media" in WordPress that let's you set-up sizes for images.
