XF 1.5 Will conditions be able to hide content to non-mobile users?

The ad network we run has given us tags for both desktop, and mobile users.
Naturally, we only want the desktop ads to display on desktop and the same for mobile, vice versa.

Can I do this with conditions?

The two ad code variations provided by the ad network are completely different.

You can use media queries to target the viewport width, but that may be against the ToS of the ad provider.

Otherwise you would need to use a custom JavaScript solution.

The ad company recommend media queries but I am not familiar with them- could you shed any light?
