Why is stuff not breaking?

Hi guys,

I always try to avoid installing plugins on my sites when it comes to other CMS's as bad code leads to high load and slow sites.

Well nothing seems to slow down my XF sites? Why is XF not slowing down with all the plugins I am installing? Should I really be this open to plugins on XF, I mean they will kill me right?

They definitely have an impact on performance Nothing is free
