Why I Chose XenForo

A week ago I was still looking into different forum solutions for my website. I tested XenForo a few months ago and was very impressed but I had some difficulties integrating my blog header at the top of the forums.

Last weekend I decided to try XenForo again. This time around I found the template system and style modifier much easier to use. I guess you need to take the time to learn any new styling system :)

My blog focuses on the WordPress platform therefore most websites in my niche have chosen the plugin bbPress for their discussion forum. I believe bbPress to be too basic. I published an article today explaining why I didn't choose bbPress and why I chose XenForo instead.

I'm sure those of you who are sitting on the fence still and not sure which platform to choose will find it useful.

Why I Didn’t Choose bbPress For Our Discussion Forums

Thanks,
Kevin

BuddyPress and bbPress are not an option.
Tried it myself and messed around with it for about a year.

Luckily dumped BuddyPress and bbPress into the trash. Never looked back.

I had used vBulletin for 10 years but I initially used bbPress on my site because of my blogs focus on WordPress. It's way to simple. It's ok for a basic forum but not for a proper community.
