Who's old enough to remember the 80s?

As i said i was in primary school in the early to late eighties.
Will be 49 in late november.
My family had this old analogue tv that kept flicking off on us.
We had only two tv channels. Southern cross and abc.

I'm also old enough to remember the late 60's, most of the 70's but the 80's are all a bit of a blur tbh 🤐
Sounds like you had a great time, even if you didn't remember all of the details ... 😂

Oh man that sucks. Why did you get stop it and no but I wish knew about it. I would’ve joined.
I ran out of time to work on it. I'd never have let it go if I knew the new owner would eventually just delete the forum... It was slow at that point, but tremendously busy for years...

I'm covering a trade show in Schaumburg (Chicago) in a week and a half. It's mainly high-end audio, certainly the biggest show in the US of its type. Was talking with my editor last week about the narrow selection of music at these shows. (Hard to describe, but it's the type of stuff I'd never listen to at home.) He mentioned that he should try to connect with a manufacturer and have an '80s listening party. And I agreed. He's a bit older and a little more rooted in the 70s, but isn't so glued to it that he can't listen to anything beyond 1976 (like many "aging rockers" tend to do).

I'd be good with that. One of the rooms this year is having an after-hours metal party. Not my cup of tea, but we both applaud the effort and may try to attend if we're back from the company dinner by then.

You can’t go wrong with 80s music.

I'm currently reliving the 70s and 80s rock music scene on my music site and on my X account. It's wonderful remembering all those great bands, the concerts and weekends in the pubs and clubs where the rock discos and local rock bands played. I sometimes have to pinch myself and ask, 'where did all the time go?' My first rock album was Black Sabbath's first album and I had to save for several weeks to buy it, that was 55 years ago. Another album I bought at the same time was Deep Purple In Rock, and they were the first major rock band I saw live, my ticket cost 13/- (that was thirteen shillings, equivalent to 65p today). Amazing times, nothing like today, and I'm more than happy that I was around back then to experience all the amazing bands, albums and concerts.
