XF 2.0 Which file utilizes XF\Util\File

I am trying to understand how to write correctly to the server and would like to know what file in XF I could look to as an example. Also, is it possible to search all the files for usage of one of those methods? FWIW I use Sublime.

Of course, Cmd + Shift + F on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + F on PC
