What's your contingency plan for your forums if you're incapitated or die?

Something I'm thinking about. Due to the work I put into it & the work of the mod team & all the time, effort of our members to build our communities it would be a shame for the forums to die if something happened to me.

If I die what happens? I'd like the forums to keep going & don't want my family burdened with trying to provide all the details re hosting, domains etc etc to someone else to carry things on.

Do you have a plan for this?

Not yet but it is something I am considering when I next update my will.

[EDIT]I think this can depend on whether there is significant revenue that an heir would want to benefit from even though he/she has no interest in the forum or running it.

I will name one or more of my current mod team that I trust to take over running it and management of the database and hosting in the event that my heirs don't want to do either of those.

The host company will need authority to allow access to the files and database, or maybe if you trust your mods or someone you can give them the details now, otherwise I think you need to give somebody authority to have server access either directly in the will or in an accompanying letter.

Eventually any heirs would be able to gain access, but there could be a considerable delay, the last thing on their minds might be seeing to it that the forum management and maintenance continues so I will definitely have something in my will and/or have discussed this with a trusted mod.
