Can you explain this a little better? Are you talking about clicking on a IPv6 address in the xenForo user panel/acp area? And it doesn't load or can't be found? Not sure if I've missed something but recently when going to check IP's of new users I just get "Can't check IPV6" which is no help. Mobile IP's What are others doing? Copying the IP and pasting it into some other website?
Hmm. We're just using the default settings in XF 2.3.6 and we can pull IPv6 data just fine. I don't think I've seen that error message about not being able to check IPv6. Did you change the service to something else in the XF settings?Sorry! Yes when you're in ACP and checking a user's IP address as usual so many of them just can't be checked as a message comes up saying it can't check IPV6 IP's. Mobile phones usually. So it's not much help as can't see if they have any blacklist marks. Is this the same for everyone right now. I did google it and found something about they're not doing IPV6 yet and try xyz place that does.
It would seem so. I'm not sure why though...So it's a problem at my end then?
Sorry to hear that, it must be something local on your device. I doubt that the service is blocking basic functionality by region. No it doesn't
Now I've figured out what you're doing here. I think I was just missing a piece of the puzzle.
The settings for this are in your ACP >Is there somewhere in XF I can change which IP checking place XF links to when an IP address is linked? Or maybe I shouldn't tinker with that?
../admin.php?options/groups/serviceProviders/
Just as long as you catch do a direct inquiry like the default one does, it should be fine.So is it fine to change that link to a different site?
Sadly no, sorry, it's not something we really pay attention to. Most of this evaluation work falls to Xon's Signup abuse tools. Can't decide which site nowAny particular recommendations? I've been looking up the IPV6 ones on IPVoid. Is that considered a safe site to link?
The short answer is that it does an evaluation on each new member. If the score exceeds a certain amount, it kicks the new member account over to the approval queue for someone to review. It’s a well rounded tool kit and it can be overwhelming from a tech point of view. It’s a great help when you start exceeding 50+ new members a day.Ah that's interesting. I had been looking at that but wasn't sure if it might be a bit complicated for me. Basically if a new member joins that I have some slight suspicions about I go to their account and click on their IP address, which tells me what location and allows checking to see if they're on a blacklist - which is very useful. But not useful if it won't check IPV6 IP's.
I have read the addon description but still not fully clear about some things. So it allows you to click on a member's IP address? And I think there's some geoblocking option isn't there?
