What happened?

Please forgive me this naive question, but I never was much active here and then decided to read some (interesting) threads in the last couple of days (after getting no reaction to bug reports) which have raised even more questions, than they would actually answer my original question. Where's the (support) staff? Why won't they respond to threads (anymore)? Why are there so many pending bugs? Why are there no frequent updates? Why is there no active staff, here at the forums? Is it just me, who thinks, that communication could be improved? Should I be worried about the future of XF (some of my licenses are running until 2029)? Do I have to raise a ticket when I require a reply from support?

Back to my original question: What happened? :unsure:


Don't get me wrong, I love XF and I was already using vBulletin 2 more than 20 years ago, then vB3, vB4 and then moved to XF (like most of us), after IB started to ruin vBulletin.

A worried (old-school) customer.
 
Post 2.3.8, it is much... much improved. Good communication, updates, bug fixes, community feel. You might be reading some older threads (by older, I mean even a few weeks old, as, the improvement is recent).
 
All the points you raise have been discussed at massive length in various threads on here, so you're not alone in thinking this.

@beerForo is correct about recent improvements though, so perhaps reserve judgement for now and see how it goes from now on.
