Using "Custom Fields" and "Search".




Example of URL-structure for the Filters in the left sidebar:

domain.com/whatever/forums/xenforo-questions-and-support.25/search?registrationquestions=captcha

domain.com/whatever/forums/xenforo-questions-and-support.25/search?asia=china

domain.com/whatever/forums/xenforo-questions-and-support.25/search?businesstype=forsale







Please let me know if you can code this.

Any suggestions and hints / improvements welcome!

No.
These are entirely "Custom Fields" or "Prefixes".
There is no intent to use "Sub-Forums" at all.


Not sure which makes more sense from a coding-perspective (either using "Custom Fields" or "Prefixes" as a code-base).
I guess "Custom Fields" are easier and more flexible and being able to "filter" via "Search-function".

all of these items in the left-sidebar should be "Custom Fields" on thread-creation (specific per Forum-node).


I still have to try your "Custom Fields by Waindigo"-Addon, but I think your Addon is similar to this "Example mockup":
