Staff online is not a separate widget - it is part of the "members_online" widget.

You can turn off the display of Staff online globally via the widget settings, but that means nobody can see it - not even administrators.

You can turn off the display of the entire Members online widget (including Staff online) for specific users using the widget display condition field - but...

What if "Can bypass user privacy" is set to YES?

This addon does not change the default behaviour of the widget other than to hide it when someone does not have the "View staff online" permission.

The widget query used to generate the online list does honour the "Can bypass user privacy" setting - and this addon will not change that behaviour.

v1.0.1 bugfix

one of the core functions we over-ride in the addon has had its signature change in XF 2.2.x (it was previously erroneous in 2.1.x) - so we've updated our function to match the updated core version.

v1.0.1 is likely only compatible with XF 2.2

• canViewStaffOnline() on the User entity now checks the permission of the user it is called on, rather than always the visitor's
• answer the hampel_admin_api_redaction code event to declare that the add-on has no secrets; this adds no dependency, and does nothing on a forum where no add-on defines that event
