The fact of the matter is that you didn't just copy 'some ideas' you copied the overall style of the design. The navigation looks exactly the same (including placement), the breadcrumb is in the same place as Velvet, and the layout and sidebar structure are made to look the same, if slightly different.Ok, guys, I don't try to hide that this style is similar to Velvet, but it has nothing from it, literally. I used some of the ideas from that style, but they are pretty basic, like moving private tab to moderator bar, or stitching navigation to the right, you can't copyright these ideas and they are used wisely on the internet. I also created graphics for that style, like node icons, breadcrumb arrows. Other graphics were done with the use of CSS3 gradients, box shadows, which is totally off copyright. If you think I've stolen something than just don't buy it, there are a lot of styles for XenForo.
If there are any Skinbox representatives or the designer itself on this forum they can PM me to discuss this topic.
Changing colors and imagery do not change the overall style enough to make it original. By your argument I could take XenFracture, change it to be a neutral color palette and pass it off as my own. Or someone could take my xenBook style, change the colors to red and say it was completely original to them. Both styles have their own uniqueness to the design which isn't changed enough by replacement of colors and imagery.
Looks nothing like it
Well, guess I'll be holding off purchasing this now, til this is settled between you and him.
The only changes were that the tablinks are below the breadcrumb, and that colors and icons were changed.
I see why you say that Forsaken, didn't know about the existence of the IPB version

It sure looks like to inherit the concept but is it stealing? At least like you said with your style. I'm not sure about that...
The overall layout is copied, which is what makes a design. If he had gone with rounded corners, a different style of breadcrumb in the same placement, and had gone out of his way to make the style not look like Velvet, you can say it is inspired. But when you can pick out major elements that look so close to the original it is a copy.
