vBulletin 3.8.1 board - convert to Xenforo or just do a new board?

I have a vBulletin Board version 3.8.1 - stats are Threads: 340,493, Posts: 2,747,651, Members: 37,836 , Active Members: 2,766 and database size/ stats below. I have a lot of modifications made to the site too. What are the odds that I can convert it to Xenforo without problems or database errors, or loss of data? I'm trying to decide if I should just start a new site, and slowly phase out the old one, or convert to Xenforo and hope for the best. Any ideas? Success stories? I'm sooo nervous at the idea of transferring..

You have quite a lot of content. It would be a shame imho to loose them. Why don''t you try the conversion first? There have been quite a lot of big vb forums that have converted to xenforo without any issues.

Also there is no need to be stressed out. The conversion itself will not cause any loss of data what so ever in the source forum. But should you decide to start a new site then make a thorough backup of the database and forum files too of your vb forum before you ditch it.

And welcome to xenforo btw :)

Dump those plugins and offer new and modern features.. XenForo offers most if their vB equivalents. But since the XF software is built on modern architecture most plugins are much more dynamic..

There is nothing to fear XenForo is here!!!!!

@jilly You should spend some time looking at all the addons here http://xenforo.com/community/resources/

Here are some XenForo equivalents that I know of

Social Groups (there is an importer too)
Social Forums (believe there is a similar addon)
Logician's Web Templates (Take a look at this core feature)
Ignore Thread (more than one addon)
Members who have visited
Mini Nav Bar (Template modification?)
Mobile Style Options (Core feature)
Reported post creates new thread (Core feature)
Separate Sticky and Regular Threads (template modification)
Smilies in Quick Reply (Core feature)
Usergroup Color bar (Core feature)
Vbulletin Blog (There are at least two)
Welcome headers (core feature)

Hundreds , if not thousands, of forums have converted from vbulletin so you shouldn't have any concerns about that. The basic data (members/forums/threads/etc) all gets converted easily so you shouldn't lose any basic data during the transfer.
