VB4 Import Question

With the VB4 importer, can I only import the members? I'd like to start over with the forums/threads...

You can do that sure... not sure why you would as it would lose any search engine rankings you had, but you can do it yea...

When the import starts, you have a few options to choose from... You'd best hope that members is one of them..

There may be a few dependent modules like usergroups and user fields that you will have to run before it lets you import users. But basically yeah, just run the modules you want and skip the rest. Guide here with pictures:

I ran a test and yes, you can do this.

As Jake Bunce said, you will need to still improve user groups, user fields, permission settings, and other user dependences ..... But confirmed it can be done

I wouldn't suggest it though. I think it would harm any community no matter where you're importing from or to. But you could do it.

You would need to import the user-dependent settings, such as their user groups, and their permissions.

But after that you can skip everything else.
