Add-on User specified passworded threads

I was wondering if it's possible to give users the ability to password protect a suggested thread that they created. Example:

1. Admin designates "Private Forum" has ability to password protect threads
2. Member A creates a thread in "Private Forum" section.
   • Upon completion of thread, user is asked to enter a password
3. Member B attempts to access thread & is requested to enter a password

I know that there is passworded forum sections but I want 1 section where users can create their own content & share the password with the users of their choosing.

I will be happy to answer any questions if this idea sounds applicable to any developers.
