In XF1 these tabs where shown active when you were in those areas (e.g. reading a conversation):

Now, on XF2, they don't behave this way. When you are in those areas, no menutab is shown active.

Also the appropriate sub-navigation (e.g. "starred conversations") is not shown, instead the sub nav is always:
  • Your news feed
  • Latest activity
  • Your profile
  • Your account
  • Log out
I did not find any thread about that, so maybe really an unfixed bug? If that was done on purpose, it's a decision that I cannot understand.

Edit: Of course, the "Alerts" tab cannot be shown active, because it's part of the user tab (wich should be shown active in that case). And for search there was no tab in XF1, but now we have one.

They aren’t navigation tabs, they’re menu triggers so they only need to be selected if the menu is open.

Only stuff within the customisable public navigation can control the highlighted state and sub navigation entries.

Starred conversations is now a filter in the filter menu rather than being a separate page.

So it’s different to XF1 but meant to be so.
