XF 1.1 User group colours in sidebar

I followed the instructions here:

http://xenforo.com/community/resources/sidebar-user-name-styling.1737/

for my installation's current default skin, and it has not applied itself. Some of the users should be a brown colour, others red etc, but at the moment they are all coming up as the default link colour.

Any suggestions? This is the template for the sidebar users online:

Code:
<xen:edithint template="sidebar.css" />

<!-- block: sidebar_online_staff -->
<xen:if hascontent="true">
   <div class="section staffOnline avatarList">
     <div class="secondaryContent">
       <h3>{xen:phrase staff_online_now}</h3>
       <ul>
         <xen:contentcheck>
           <xen:foreach loop="$onlineUsers.records" value="$user">
             <xen:if is="{$user.is_moderator} OR {$user.is_admin}">
               <li>
                 <xen:avatar user="$user" size="s" img="true" />
                 <xen:username user="$user" rich="true" />
                 <div class="userTitle">{xen:helper userTitle, $user}</div>

Just double-checked them all and none are showing up as they should. The staffers' ones show up in the staff online now section, but for the members and staff in the users online now section they're still all the default link colour.

I've also removed the link styling for usernames in the sidebar per the style properties, and still no luck. Any help?

I'd be happy to let somebody have a temp admin access so they can have a look if needed.
