As designed User Deleted and renamed deleted User but all names in quotes remain

Under the new GDPR painful rules there is an option now to delete the user and have their account renamed as for example, deleted account user 12345

However despite all posts being renamed the quotes of these posts still show in the Original name of the poster, when clicking on a quote it takes you to the OP. Thus the Original poster is still able to be identified with the deleted account through the quotation system.

I understood the point of renaming an account "deleted member" was to comply with the GDPR right to be forgotten?

If a quoted message still contains the original account name and this can be linked to the "deleted member" name then surely this would mean that the "deleted member" does not comply with the right to be forgotten as the username is still linked to all posts made under the new name "deleted member,"?

The right to be forgotten doesn't extend to usernames. The only time it could become an issue is if the member uses their actual name as a username but then again that would not identify him specifically - how many John Smith's are there for instance?
