XF 1.5 user created groups

We've just moved over to XF from vB which we've used for a very long time. In vB members had created groups for social get-togethers and the like. Can xf accommodate these groups? It seems that we've not ported them over to the new install, is it possible to have these in xf? If it is can you give me any idea on settings

You would need an add-on for this. There are a couple that I'm aware of:

Have you any idea if the old data can be imported into the add-ons?

You'd need to ask the developer of those add-ons (probably best to post in the discussion thread for the one you are interested in).
