URL unfurl rebuild process for internal / own site

I would like to see a URL unfurl rebuild functionality. Bonus if external links can be selected to be included in the rebuild too, but if that is too complex, at least internal/self links.

When you edit a thread's title, or perhaps the first post initial content is edited, this is not represented in any internal/self unfurled links to that thread. With a rebuild process, it would update the unfurl content to teh threads current title and snippet of first post content.

+1, would be really useful now that we finally changed accept language to en-us. Now all "german" links should get updated to en-us.

+1! Please, this would be incredibly useful.

I suddenly have hundreds of posts with un-unfurled links that I'd love to rebuild. They were all done correctly, but a server configuration change at the site we were linking to changed, and hundreds of new posts since then are not unfurling. The external site fixed their error, so new links are unfurling, but many posts made during the period before they fixed this remain affected on my forum.

@AndyB has an addon that should do most of the stuff.

when unfurl feature was announced, iirc, it was mentioned that data would be refetched/updated at regular intervals. though in my experience, it only happens when the link is reposted or post is edited and saved.

This is a solid idea and would be really useful, especially for keeping internal links updated with accurate titles and snippets after edits. A rebuild functionality for unfurled links could save a lot of manual work and ensure consistency across the site.

i'm not super knowledgable about these things, but seems like an obvious CRON task that can run from the ACP either on-demand or on a schedule to rebuild all unfurl links. but i may be missing something.
