XF 2.2 Upgrade to 2.2.4 failed

I've just clicked to upgrade to 2.2.4 from the admin area but it appeared not to do anything, now my site just shows "The site is currently being upgraded. Please check back later." so I'm guessing the process started. I've now tried manually uploading the files via FTP but when I go to /install folder it tries to do a new install -

XenForo is already installed in your database. Continuing will remove all XenForo-related data from your database!

• Remove all XenForo-related data, including posts and users, from vbforum

Begin installation

How can I move forward with the upgrade or at least remove the site is being upgraded message to open the site ?

Fixed, my install-lock.php file was missing.

XF 2.1 - Unable to upgrade from RC2 only new install

I can't seem to get to upgrade, the system only wants to install fresh it appears. I uploaded the upgrade package twice and it always sends me to this: Your server meets all of XenForo requirements and you're now ready to begin...
