Looks like an error with this addon files being missing or like that

The add-on is not installed, though it was at one point in the past.
The question now is: is it sufficient to delete the file "forum.php"—since it does exist in the directory?

If you delete that file since it exists in the directory, then the file won't exist anymore. My advice, if I may, don't delete that file or any other files that are part of XenForo.

Has the add-on in question been uninstalled properly? Are its files still present? Because if that was the case, it wouldn't have gotten in the way of the upgrade imo.

No, the add-on hasn't been installed for years; only that single file remains. I checked a backup from three years ago—it wasn't installed even back then, only that specific file was present.
All XF upgrades over the past three years caused no issues despite the faulty uninstallation. I wonder why the error is cropping up now, and I'm at a loss as to what to do next. I've already tried reinstalling the add-on, but without success... :(

Have you tried your first instinct and simply delete that file (making a backup of course), and see what happens? Have you also tried directly contacting the Add-on creator? Another idea (that some may be resistant to, but has worked for me) is asking A.I. what the error means? I use Perplexity, and it's incredible, and can easily search and pull all sorts of info from very reputable sources and has extensive knowledge about many, many different scripts, including XF.

Just tell it what version you upgraded from, and the error, and see what it says. It should at least give you a much clearer picture and suggestions on what to do.

Yeah, then the same error comes up, just pointing to a different file—but this time it's directly from XF, so I'm steering clear of that...

Edit:
I'm back on XF 3.10 for the moment; I have to head to work, so I'll take another look at it over the weekend.
It is strange, though—the 3.10 upgrade doesn't have an issue with the error, but 3.11 does. (...)

In that case, if it isn't the Add-on causing it, you can directly contact XF official support.

How are you doing the upgrade? Manually or through the Admin Panel? If the latter, can you try to overwrite your current forum files manually through Ftp with those from the latest version and run the upgrader again?

It looks like @Kirby's tip comes closest to the solution.
Thanks to everyone for your efforts so far.
I'm now waiting for the patch or the patched update; if the problem persists, I'll do a completely fresh install of XF to rule out issues caused by leftover software remnants.

Solution:
Completely delete the contents of the file associated with the errors:
Error: Class "AL\UnreadPostCount\XF\Pub\Controller\XFCP_Forum" not found in src/addons/XF/Pub/Controller/Forum.php at line 7
and next Error: Class "AL\UnreadPostCount\XF\Pub\Controller\XFCP_Forum" not found in src/addons/AL/UnreadPostCount/XF/Pub/Controller/Thread.php at line 7.

Then the upgrade to XF 2. 3.11 completed successfully without any issues. :)
