Unlimited characters while posting on forums

Hi guys, Very new to xenforo,
I imagine this has been answered so somewhere else before so i'm sorry for a duplicate post.

While trying to post i received an error message saying to many characters reduce your message length.

I searched the admin control panel under groups / admin but do not see a charecter length option.
will one of you genius's point me in the right direction?
