UK Online Safety Regulations and impact on Forums

its like they want control the most of all, and testing these laws for the world...they use all the excuses about the kids etc to get there, but idk if its ever about that really...like you would be able to tell if they were so all about it....its easy to say stuff but doing stuff is something else, harder to lie about

That's rubbish! Dangerous stunts and challenges is illegal under the online safety act so of course the videos are illegal.

That would be my interpretation of the act too, but TikTok make lots of money from them and can afford expensive legal teams.
The big corporations get away with a lot.

It's probably correct actually - it's not one of the illegal harms, it's one of the harmful prohibited things - content of dangerous stunts. Even so Ofcom should have got them on this ages ago.

After these two joyriding incidents for tiktok videos with teens killed and police killed, why haven't Ofcom come down on tiktok before the incidents even happened? If there are illegal joyriding videos on there?

You should report that to uk police.

This Act is bonkers

"For example, content showing someone being killed is not necessarily illegal unless it is being shared by a terrorist group, and/or accessible to children."

That act is for people doing the wrong things. Report it to tiktok and to uk police telling them there are a bunch of idiots dangerously driving in ireland

Platform legal status exists for a reason, so that platforms can exist. If platforms start moderating every bad behaviour, they are no longer immune to such law and then require to moderate everything.
