Another one here - it didn't fool yoti though. So far just the odd Reddit, Discord and YouTube plus one adult site not directly related to pornography. According to the BBC, 6,000 adult related sites are now sitting behind age verification. Are there really that many?!

Despite the law some remain sceptical about the effectiveness of porn age checks.www.bbc.co.uk
Interestingly I've already seen multiple videos detailing easy methods to circumvent age verification without the need to employ a VPN.

What did they use to verify? If you clicked on it you were asked to verify your age to watch it.
I don't know because I didn't try. It just came up with a message on the video saying you need to verify age to watch this video. I assume you had to then click on that message in a box and it would start a verification process. What did they use to verify?
I'm just wodering if it has changed from the previous age verification of "click here if you are 18 or over to view the naughty video"I assume you had to then click on that message in a box and it would start a verification process.
Back to the good old days of finding the source material in a hedge or a bushQuite a few of my top carefully curated streaming video sites all now have logins. I might have to head into the attic and blow the dust off some old school VHS tapes like the good old days.

We think that Parliament should repeal the act and work towards producing proportionate legislation rather than risking clamping down on civil society talking about trains, football, video games or even hamsters because it can't deal with individual bad faith actors.
Thank you. The gov's response is very similar to Ofcom's isn't it?@Alvin63, if you are not aware, included in the details of the petition to repeal the Online Safety Act...

We want the Government to repeal the Online Safety act.petition.parliament.uk
Free the hamster!
Because nobody had to do age verification to get on ******* beforeIt seems the Online Safety Act is trending on X with a lot of people talking about wanting to repeal it (amend it might be better rather than repeal it). I'm just curious as to why there's this big surge against it now, and not over the past 6 months while it was being implemented.
Ah right. So it's about having to show ID. Yet all but one of the age verification companies I researched, said they don't save any data whatsoever.Because nobody had to do age verification to get on ******* before![]()
