UI issue — User tag pop up instead of drop down in some cases?

As seen in this video, if you select the 3rd person in a tag drop down, you might just accidentally tag @Chris D, for instance, and post it immediately, because the 3rd person is him and lands right over the Post reply button.

There's enough screen space to pop up, but there may be cases when popping down results in an unwanted reply.

I just realized that this might be moot for 2.4 because of the new editor, but it might be something to test to see if user tags drop down right over the new Post reply button and to adjust up if there's enough screen space to do so.
