When you merge accounts, then the user profile data is not transferred to the target account. This means that if the target account has no avatar, empty profile fields, then the data from the source accounts is lost.
Please add functionality to check the target account for empty profile fields and avatar and if empty then also transfer this information from the merged account.
If there are multiple source accounts and the target account has empty fields or avatar, then obviously some information will be lost. But at least we will end up with a complete profile.
