This isn't how you would optimize user uploaded images, no. There are add-ons that can do that. But user uploaded images are probably not as important because they won't be on your landing page.

Did you see the last post of the addon thread ? What do you think ?

I could be wrong but I don't think that's something to be worried about.

My forum usually has 10-40 members online at any given time.

Last night, I sent a mass private message to my users about something important. To my surprise, it resulted in over 230 online members, and a lot of them replied to my message with well-written insightful feedback! #feelsgood

Thanks. I don’t think it hurts engagement numbers at all. Most of my members don’t care about the ins and outs of forum stuff like that, they just want the content. A lot of them actually don’t even know what all that extra data means. So I try to keep it a bunch of things out of view to not have clutter from unnecessary info.
