XF 2.2 Too Aggressive Image Compression

Uploaded images are far too heavily compressed, especially pngs which are barely readable and not good enough for ads etc. See below.

Using Imagemagick PECL extension option.

Have tried changing “Maximum attachment image dimensions” thinking maybe this is the threshold above which compression kicks in, but makes no difference.

Any help appreciated.

I don't think stock XF compresses PNG's.... maybe an add-on or something else?

That’s what I find. I use an addon to convert pngs as they are so big and don’t seem to get compressed otherwise.

Are you using thumbnails?
