isn't this what Xenforo does by default?

My development install with zero add-ons does this for example

It's a built-in feature. But it's only be activated if user choose automatic watch the thread that you create or reply to... (in preference).

Actually, as an admin you can default set it via the ACP, then a user has to uncheck it to stop watching threads they post upon/create.

Nope, this is not a feature in xenforo. My mod sends an alert automatically only to thread starters for replies made to their threads.
