XF 1.4 thread prefix permission

can i limit the using of a certain prefix to specific moderators or admins, not all in the usergroup?

Yes, edit a prefix if you have one created then look at the Forums and Permissions tab.

It will apply to all those in the moderating group. If you want it to apply to only specific moderators, create and additional group for them to also be in (it doesn't have to have any permissions set in it as they'll be getting those from the moderating group) and select that group for the prefixes.
