Hey guys, having some issues with a thread avatar, very strange.


A bit of a brief rundown.

I hired a Dev and asked him explicitly when making the purchase of XenForo to purchase the full license off the XenForo site (probably told him about 5 times), he then went and purchased a license from a reseller and it wasn't until I had to log on here to add a few addons and I needed the license key to register that he came clean and told me he purchased a license from a reseller for $130, so.. I had to spend more money and buy it again. Not happy. And also not sure what I need to do to get this fixed.

Forum is looking good, everything looked like it was ready to launch and now I am getting a really strange error on the template.

When I am logged in as Admin, the Avatar from last post on the very first thread has disappeared (so it just shows text no avatar) - all of the other threads have avatars of the last/most recent post no issues.

When I log off, the 2nd thread Avatar is missing from the recent post and the avatar that was missing while I was logged in on the first thread re-appears. I've tried a few things, clearing cache, disabling addons, going back through and trying to undo everything I did with the cloudflare addon. Nothing seems to be working. I would really appreciate some help here on all of the above.

I know a little bit about computers and coding etc, but I am not overly tech savy and prefer to sort this out then rely on my dev who seems to keep stuffing around.

This doesn't sound right. As long as you have a valid licence and it has been transferred to you then there's no reason you can't access addons.

As for your question this seems more like an edit that's been done to your style. I don't think it's a bug.

You can download or extend / update your licenses under your customer account settings.

Also, if you add or extend your licenses, new links will show in your forum Admin panel once XF does a license check. If the links do not populate, go-to -
Admin > Tools > Check for upgrades

If the "developer" used a different set of license files, you will need to replace them with your own.

Submit a ticket and I will explain how to resolve it easily and quickly.

The strange thing is its only the top 2 threads that keep interchanging a mispopulation of the avatar, the top avatar on thread subject for user post disappears when logged in, and the 2nd avatar on the thread subject from user post dissappears when logged out (making the first one visible again).

Have no idea what it could be, noticed the issue started presenting itself when I was playing around with the cloudflare settings not sure if it could be related to that but I could be wrong.

First things first. Use the default style: does it happen then?
Cloud flare could be a factor if it's caching aggressively...
I can try help debug but it's trial and error. I wonder if @digitalpoint has experienced this?

If it's a Cloudflare caching thing going on (hard to say without knowing the URL and being able to see it firsthand), make sure your Caching Level in Cloudflare is set to Standard (it being set to anything else will cause things to not work properly with XenForo). If it's not set to that, set it and then purge Cloudflare cache and clear browser cache after you set it.
