Hello
I really like the look and feel of Xenforo and am thinking of possibly getting the forum framework with the intention of using it with WordPress. However, I have a few questions:
1) The intention is to use XF as a forum initially, but I have plans of wanting to heavily customise it, so that it acts more like multi-author platform (where user posts are promoted to the front page - ala Reddit). I know that this is something that WP is also capable of doing, but with this in mind, would you recommend XF to someone who has every intention of using WP as their "main blogging platform"?
2) I know that there is a bridge which connects XF to WP, but what sort of (plugin) compatibility issues would I run into if I do decide to go with XF? Would you recommend it? Ultimately, I am really concerned about the compatibility (or lack of) which could result in the website giving errors and breaking continuously.
3) For people who already have XF and are using it with WP, what's your experience thus far?
