I would like to agree to this. I remember when Vanilla 2 was in it's early stages. The developers said they'd have it done by this date... When they missed it, the community wasn't exactly to happy about it. It's better to just wait and let them iron out all the kinks and finish developing this product to it's fullest, that's when it will be at it's greatest. Not if it's rushed.
 
You think waiting a few months extra is bad? Please!

Have some patience~ You're still better off than those of us waiting on Duke Nukem Forever! (any day now... any day!)

I would recommend looking elsewhere if your deadlines are so sensitive, and then importing to XF when it's available in a future date. Your deadlines aren't going to make Mike and Kier work any faster.

Look for a number of forum software from Google. MyBB, phpBB, vB, IPB... there's a lot if you know what you're looking for, and really only you know what you need.
 
I need something very close to what xF has to offer. I just want to know what you all recommend in terms of quality, ease of use, ease of management, etc. It's a simple question. But, let me rephrase it: What do you like? What have you used before that you thought was the best (prior to xF)? That shouldn't be difficult to answer. If I asked you what your favorite cola drink was, or your favorite beer, you'd be able to answer that, right? Some of you must be experts, or at least know what you've used in the past and what you liked and didn't like. I just want to hear your opinions. Is that too much to ask?

How I asked it? Seriously? Okay.... I'm guessing that you are not capable of answering it. That's fine. Just hoping you could help me out, but Jeez, it's like pulling teeth around here. Can anyone else tell me what they would recommend? Anyone at all? Some program you had fairly good success with?

Trolling? I'm "trolling" for some advice here. I've pretty much exhausted my research on this. I've looked at phpbb3, vBulletin, SimpleMachines, phorum, FUD, Beehive, you name it. They all have problems. That's what led me to this forum and xF. xF looks promising, but in the mean time, I'd like to get started using something else. Onimua said that I could find another program and then after xF is released, just convert my old program over to it. That makes sense. So what program do I use until then? And, no I do not currently have a forum.
 
I think most of us are anxious. A whole bunch of us want this thing bad. The guys will lets us know when they are comfortable with releasing it.

It's kind of like when you were a kid at Christmas. Can't wait can't wait but we have to. It is for the best. I want it now too but I will just have to deal with it.
