I’ve gotta say however, those photos look AMAZING! While it may not work perfect for your needs, it pops out on your site.

They really do look good. I'm very happy with the presentation and will likely keep it.

I installed XenPorta2 for my photography forum, and found out it doesn't do the media gallery either. WTH guys?
I was, however, able to at least include the "new photos" widget on that page, so it's not a total fail.

So far it's nearly tie, though Xenporta's Category function has them slightly in the lead.

I couldn't even find a way to add the "New photos" widget to the featured page, but maybe I've overlooked something.

In any case, what I really want to do is feature specific gallery media.

I don’t think you will be able to do with this addon, maybe use media gallery widget ?

Currently only threads and polls are supported, as per add-on description. Support for resources and media is under development, see our roadmap.

Either I don't know how to use github (quite possible) or, more likely, you can see stuff that I can't.

As I said, it’s a bit disappointing that this addon haven’t been updated so long . Next time before I will pay again money for TH addons, I will make sure that are tested myself On their demo Site, before paying money.

I like this addon, but unfortunately doesn’t meet my expectations 3/5 stars from me.

Review this link as it will show that support for XenForo Resource Manager and Media Manager issues are closed and are still part of that roadmap.

Lukas, thanks for that link. For the additional image options....

[Featured] If no attachment, look for background image in IMG tag, otherwise use a default image specified in a style property. #1993

Can I make the suggestion of throwing the ability to use the already defined XF OG image in there as an option? In some cases for my sites the OG image would already make the perfect 'default' image to use so instead of having to add it each time or update some other style fproperty with the duplicate value it'd be nice to be use the OG as the final fallback.

One question about the support for XFMG.... how will it respond to embedded media entries in XFMG? Will it use the media thumbnail as the image or not allow embedded media to be featured?

The name of the option really isn't evident of what it does....

There are actually two separate things that go into this - this option does exactly what it says, and just places the first post at the top of all pages, the other one is a style property to enable article layout or something along those lines. I think the main confusion here is that this style property is enabled by default, but for it to actually take effect this option also has to be enabled. I think we can probably look into making the style property work without this option being enabled

I'm using CinVin: Home for the home page along with the TH Featured "slider" & "grid" widgets and then I'm slowly starting to build out some custom widgets like the "Today in History" widget and some others in the pipeline. In the past I've never really had a front-end 'home' page for our forums but with our photography forum I had to look into it and am starting to embrace the idea so I'm using the tiki site as a test. Now if I could just convince the TH team to allow individual attachments to be featured....

Stupid question time but how do I manually feature threads.

I've given myself the Feature threads permission but in the More options dropdown on the thread the Feature Thread option isn't showing, I assume I've missed something.


Also is it possible to hide the widgets on mobile, just using the slider or grid above the nodes at the moment. I'm not currently using the featured threads page.

Mike sorry if I missed this but is there a way to ORDER featured threads or "refresh one" so that it stays on top if more than one thread is featured? We use them on our home page and we run a sale all week that we need to stay on the top while still being able to feature other threads under it.
