XF 2.2 Template bbcode?

Since the editor manager addon is not ready yet, I am looking for a workaround.

In that addon one could save templates and insert them into the post by clicking on it. I saved a sentence we used in the forum all the time there, so we don't have to type the same thing over and over again and could insert it.

Is there a way to replicate this as a bbcode? So the button puts as an example "I was here!" when clicked and not any bbcode tags?

Custom bb code will always insert tags but the tags don't render in the submitted post - only when composing.

If you want the custom bb code to behave similar to how quote does for example, that would require a custom solution.

I see, thank you. Unfortunately tags would ruin everything. What if I chose as a custom tag "b", such as the same tag for bold? Would it render it as a bolded text? But it probably wouldn't let me to use that tag in first place I guess.

Tags must be unique.
