Tagged threads sorted by thread creation date?

Hello,

I noticed that the software stores the thread creation date whenever a tag is applied to a thread. Is this because threads on tag pages are sorted by thread creation date? (Is that what they are sorted on?) Since thread creation date doesn't change, I imagine that this could save significant overhead.

Is there a way to sort tag search results by last post date?

There are no options related to ordering or sorting tags or tag search results.
