It's an interesting approach but I can also understand why for example Mozilla isn't happy.
I doubt that there many XenForo users (if any) who already experimented with SXG as there isn't much tooling available already (and not everybody can or is willing to compile nginx modules) and there don't seem to be any free certificates available that would support being used for signing.
