XF 2.0 Switching to https

I started a forum a few days ago and a couple of people said they have been blocked from accessing it from work. I do not know the reason why, but I am wondering if it could be because it is on http rather than https? What do you think?

If so, should I go buy a certificate? Or can you get them for free?

Is it easy to switch Xenforo to https?

Sorry for so many questions. I am in a hurry as I think the blocking is putting people off from joining in!

Odds are their work uses a list of allowed sites by type and you aren't on it. I know of 2 that we block sites based upon their type.
HTTPS usually won't have anything to do with it normally, although I know of a few that can restrict visiting to only HTTPS sites (Squid allows this also).
They can ask their IT department to whitelist your site, but odds are they won't due to company policy.

The thing is, they can access my other forum. The forum they can access is a 3.8 (competitor) forum on programming. This new xenforo forum I created is for topics about the mind: TheMindTavern. So, perhaps they got the programming site whitelisted? Who knows! I am getting SSL on there and let's see what happens!

I'd suspect they have social media site settings in whitelist rather than blacklist mode, and anything that isn't already a known social network/forum is going to get blocked.... such as TheMindTavern. It might simply be too new.
