Just finished a migration (isn’t that fun) to a new server.

Previously, I had my forum setup to resolve to this: forums.DOMAIN.com

Now, if I type-in forums.DOMAIN.com, it will resolve to DOMAIN.com/forums whereas it used to resolve to forums.DOMAIN.com

Not sure what I’m missing. I’m using the same .htaccess file in the forum direcTory.

The problem is Misconfigured DNS records for forums.example.com, and that has nothing to do within .htaccess file within xenforo forum software.

Try talking to your webhost support, I'm sure they can resolve this.

Unfortunately after 90 minutes of bouncing around various “chat” centers, nope.

Did you create some custom DNS records or it's by default ?

I host the DNS on the server so I can make any adjustments by hand. I didn’t run any customizations.

Have you added/changed board URL in XF admin panel? - admin.php?options/groups/basicBoard/

That won't affect anything.

XF has nothing to do with how URLs resolve.

Delete the A record with name www.forums, since subdomains don't use www, you only remove that A record.
And check if this will solve your issue.

Nope. I have Godaddy looking into it (“give us 72 hours!”) which means a week.
